STUDIO 8 made a huge impact with its debut show at Dubai Fashion Week. The highly-anticipated show attracted the crème de la crème of VIPs and fashionistas from Dubai and India, and did not disappoint the star-studded audience.

To open Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhary took to the stage in a Pria Kataaria Puri gold net floor-length gown, which was met by rapturous applause. Puri’s collection palette was gold with ivory and cream splashes.

The opulent theme continued as Chitra Amarnani showcased her Sweety range. Heavily embellished abayas with crystals, stones, beads and pearls featured on the front and back.

Aiisha Ramadan kept things fun and floaty with her bright collection of floor-sweeping gowns. Waistbands were clinched in and there was a romantic feel to the dresses that had embellished details on the back and fabric flowers.

It was ruffles, long trains, prints and heavily decorated outfits for HSY. The collection of lengha’s were heavily beaded and there was a ornate feel to his range. Pakistani supermodel Mehreen Syed was his show stopper

But it was definitely Manish Malhotra who stole the show. Opening his collection by walking down the catwalk himself in a black velvet jacket with splashes of bronze gold, the popular Indian designer set the tone for the rest of his range. Things were funky, young, sexy and sporty.
The colour palette was limited to bronze-gold and black, and sheer nets were teamed with funky sneakers. The sporty feel of the collection was reflected in the prominence of the hoodies, while backs of tops were either cut-out or sheer. The show-stopper was Tusshar Kapoor who had specially flown in from Mumbai.

Manish Malhotra wowes audiences with his latest collection which kickstarted four days of fashion shows at The Bride Show Dubai
Dubai, UAE, 24 April, 2008: The Bride Show Dubai opened yesterday with glitz and glamour, as visitors at the first fashion show of the four day event enjoyed the latest collection by leading Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
Manish's summer looks were in keeping with the status and glamour his audiences have come to expect, with sparkling silver embellishments, adding to the flavor, making the dresses very ornate. Anticipating the forthcoming season, Manish used fresh fruity colours such as apple greens, strawberry pinks, lemon yellows, peaches and corals, blended with soothing hues of white and beige.
The models looked beautiful in Manish's creations, which emphasized feminine silhouettes, through the effective use of textured fabrics with flowing georgette and chiffon.
Manish Malhotra, one of India's most famous fashion designers who has worked with some of the biggest names in Bollywood, is a long time participant of The Bride Show Dubai. His charisma and exclusive clients have brought glamour to The Bride Show before, as seen in 2007 when Urmila Mantondkar opened his show. Manish's creations are worn by leading Bollywood actresses as well as several international celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Reese Witherspoon and Naomi Campbell.
No stranger to the realm of bridal attire, Manish has designed for weddings all over the world, including Antwerp, London, Singapore, Spain, America and of course Dubai. He has been involved with the costume designing industry for more than 16 years and has won 22 awards, most recently receiving the Hall of Fame Award for Contribution to Fashion in Films at a fashion awards ceremony in Mumbai.
The Bride Show Dubai was officially opened yesterday by Dr Maryam Mattar, Executive Director of Dubai Social Development Strategic Plan, launching a four-day showcase of haute couture fashion, luxury wedding products and all the services necessary for a bride's big day.
With two days left of The Bride Show, unveiling both traditional and modern bridal looks and more than 400 exhibitors from 13 countries, visitors are flocking to Dubai International Exhibition Centre to enjoy the fashion, glamour and all things bridal.
"Manish's opening show was truly spectacular," said Daphne Cota, Exhibition Manager for The Bride Show. "His beautiful creations were followed by stunning collections by Salim Asgarally, Redaa, Arushi Fashion Design and Demetrios, which raptured audiences and left them cheering for more."
Running alongside The Bride Show, Women's Healthcare and Al Bayt Al Arabie, the UAE's only Arabian home show, also opened their doors to visitors yesterday. Women's Healthcare kicked off with the "Go Red for Women" campaign, an initiative launched in the UAE to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease for women, passing out pins to visitors to draw attention to the preventable heart disease so prevalent in millions of women worldwide.
The Bride Show Dubai, organised by IIR Middle East, is the largest bridal event in the region and takes place daily until Saturday 26th April 2008 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
Open to the public from 2.30pm-10.30pm, The Bride Show Dubai has attracted an international line-up, showcasing wedding gowns, international haute couture fashion, beauty, hair and jewellery ideas, wedding venues and honeymoon destinations

The much awaited Saher Dia Spring Summer line dazzled crowds at Day 5 of Dubai Fashion Week during 24th October, 2010 to 28th October, 2010 at atlantis, United Arab Emirates. The creations on display were three types of gowns: evening wear, bohemian chic and bridal Dress

Simple gowns in gold, white and nudes with shoulder and bust embroidery started the show as models walked in from under an archway of flowers. These were followed by bohemian chic dresses with snake, leopard and other digital prints in pink, grey and silver. Gowns in varying intensities of red, orange, gold, emerald and lilac followed, in a bid to joyously usher in springtime.

Dia’s signature style of simple cuts with strategically placed Swarovski stones was evident in all the ensembles. A bold swimsuit-like outfit encrusted in purple and white crystals with a chiffon cape won instant audience approval.

The bridal collection that followed was a mix of white lace, taffeta tulle and satin, embellished with crystals and accentuated by trailing veils delicately dusted with the precious stones. The collection, titled “Glamorous” made ample use of gold lamé as an under-layer for patterned tulle, adding to the allure and shimmer of the outfit.
